Prof. Ana Azevedo received the "Técnico Teaching Excellence Award" for the 2nd cycle at the Sessão Solene marking Técnico's 115th anniversary on 22 May, with the diploma presented by Miguel Teixeira, president of the Pedagogical Council. Decided by students through their QUC evaluations, the prize had already been awarded to her once before, as a guest assistant professor. Receiving it now as associate professor, she said, shows that "the flame of teaching does not go out and does not wear down with time." In her remarks, Prof. Ana Azevedo made a case for human connection as the core of effective teaching, arguing that the classroom must remain a place of encounter rather than a repository of content, and that Técnico, alongside its engineers and scientists, should keep forming people connected to one another.
