New high-quality and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell lines of Angelman Syndrome

The team of Prof. Simão Rocha (DBE, iBB), in a work led by the PhD student, João Camões dos Santos, recently published two new high-quality sets of pluripotent stem cell lines reprogrammed from blood samples from Portuguese Angelman syndrome patients (ANGEL Portugal). These cell lines carry one of the most severe genotypes of the disease and will pave the way towards personalized disease models, advance our understanding of disease mechanisms, and ultimately develop new therapeutic approaches for this neurodevelopmental disorder.
