DBE members Frederico Castelo Ferreira and João Carlos Silva are part of the Unite! Seed Fund Project “ELECTROBONE - Electroconductive scaffolds combined with biomimetic bioreactors for improved bone investigation and regeneration”.

ELECTROBONE aims to investigate, for the first time, the potential synergistic effect of combining electroconductive scaffolds with non-invasive pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) stimulation, a clinically established approach for enhancing fracture healing. Following the principles of Unite! University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering, the project will exploit the complementary expertises of the partners to open new perspectives in bone regeneration and foster future collaborations and knowledge sharing between Instituto Superior Técnico - Universidade de Lisboa, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) (Prof. Maria M. Pérez-Madrigal), and Politecnico di Torino (Project Coordinator: Prof. Diana Massai). See more.
