On April 20th, the team made up of Physiotherapists Inês Oliveira and Miguel Russo, and Professors: Athanasios Vourvopoulos (DBE/IST), Carla Mendes Pereira (ESS/IPS), and Ana Isabel Almeida (ESS/IPS) received the “Dr Santana Carlos award” attributed to the oral communication: "Using Brain-Computer Interface and Virtual Reality for stroke rehabilitation: a Collaborative Design" by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), through its Alcoitão Rehabilitation Medicine Center (CMRA), during the CMRA 2024 International Conferences, which took place in the auditorium of the Alcoitão Rehabilitation Medicine Center.
The study presented was developed within the scope of the NOISyS project: Neuroadaptive Systems for Brain Restoration based on Virtual-Reality and Brain-Computer-Interfaces, a project from LaSEEB (PI: Athanasios Vourvopoulos), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (2022.02283.PTDC), which aims to develop a new model for upper limb rehabilitation in people with stroke, using emerging technologies based on Virtual Reality and Brain-Computer Interfaces.
