On the last 25^th of June, at 5 pm, Salão Nobre da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa was the stage of the ceremony of awarding of the title of Professor Emeritus to Professor Isabel Sá-Correia. This ceremony counted with the collaboration of family members, friends and members of iBB and DBE who wanted to share this special and honorable moment with Professor Isabel. The session was opened by the President of Instituto Superior Técnico, Professor Rogério Colaço, who emphasized the role of Professor Isabel in the establishment of pathways for the future generations and included also a speech from the President of DBE, Professor João Pedro Conde, who emphasized the academic leadership and the pioneering role of Professor Isabel at iBB and DBE. These initial interventions were followed by a wonderful speech by Professor Isabel who travelled through her journey of more than 4 decades establishing the scientific area of Biological Sciences at iBB and DBE in a period “during in which gender balance was not a concern”. The ceremony was closed by the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Professor Luís Ferreira who emphasized, once more, how deserving Professor Isabel is of this very special and honorable distinction.  See here the entire speech.
