Inspiring the Next Generation of (Biomedical) Engineers

July 7th marked the beginning of INBIO 2025, a summer school organized by the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) Department of Bioengineering (DBE) in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), Ciência Viva, Faculdade de Medicina, and several research centers associated with IST. The Summer School is organized by Professor Hugo Silva, with assistance from students Letícia Sousa, Mariana Nunes, Sofia Monteiro, and Tiago Bolaños. Over the course of a full week, prospective students have an unique opportunity to learn more about Biomedical Engineering, from basic physiology principles to end-user application, and are enrolled in a set of practical activities during which they build their very own Arduino-powered heart rate monitor. INBIO has already impacted the choices of many current DBE students, and is set to impact many more. See more.
