Prof. Vasco Bonifácio (DBE, iBB), alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, Boston, USA) was invited to the celebration of Prof. Paula Hammond 60^th Anniversary and the Hammond Lab 30^th Anniversary at Koch Institute (KI). It was in this research group that Vasco Bonifácio carried out research work in 2012, as a visiting scientist. The commemorative Symposium was held at KI from 25 to 27 July 2024 and was attended by around 100 scientists, including students and collaborators. Vasco Bonifácio gave a lecture entitled “Dendrimer Therapeutics”, in which he presented a historical perspective of his research work in polyurea dendrimers for cancer therapeutics, treatment of bacterial and fungal infections, and regenerative medicine, as well as his latest discoveries in this field.
