The Biological Sciences Research Group was strongly represented at the XXII Jornadas de Leveduras Nicolau Van Uden, the Portuguese yeast Biology meeting, that took place in Curia, 20-21 September 2024. Six PhD students presented their work, including Diogo Santos, Inês Costa, Joana Pinheiro, Diogo Couceiro, Maria Zolotareva and Bárbara Coelho, while Nuno Mira, a member of the Scientific Committee, presented a keynote lecture. Miguel Cacho Teixeira was a member of the Organizing Committee. Altogether, the conference provided the opportunity to re/connect with colleagues and friends from the Portuguese Yeast community, while reinforcing the ties that foster collaborative efforts in the field of Yeast-based Biotechnology and Health.
